On Conan O’Brien’s TV show just now, a guest was comedian Marc Maron. He immediately sat down and did his act in the interview format.

They announced that he will have a new radio show starting on February 13, 2006 from Burbank, California. It will be produced by Air America Radio.

It will probably be syndicated.

The way AAR uses the term “syndicated,” it means that radio stations can buy the right to play the show separately. Ordinarily, stations which want to play one AAR show need to play others as well. It also means that the show isn’t available on the main audio-stream at the AAR website, though it can be streamed from the respective show-page at the AAR website. As of now, Thom Hartmann has the only syndicated AAR show.

Marc Maron was one of the original hosts when AAR debuted, at the time paired with Mark Riley on the now-cancelled “Morning Sedition.” They were broadcasting together from New York City. Mark Riley has his own morning show on AAR now, still from New York. Marc Maron has moved to California.
